NASCAR

I've just about had it with NASCAR. What the fuck were they thinking last night? There was a 3 hour rain delay and they ran the race anyway, started around 10. Personally, I didn't stay up to see it, and it ended afer midnight. They couldn't have posponed it and run it today when more people would see it? It's gotten ridiculous since Nextel took over from Winston this year. There have been rule changes, confusion, and the level of profssionalism has dropped considerably.

My boy, Rusty Wallace, on the points changes Nextel instituted when they took over:

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Add Rusty Wallace to the growing list of drivers critical of NASCAR's new system for crowning the Nextel Cup champion.

Under the system adopted this season, only the top 10 in the standings and anyone else within 400 points of the leader will be eligible to race for the championship over the final 10 events.

"I don't like the way it makes the people out of the top 10 feel," Wallace said. "If you're out of the top 10 this time it's going to make you feel like a loser, and I don't think that's good for the sport."

Nextel acts like a kid just out of college on his first job, or the Bush Administration after taking over from Clinton. Anything that came before is wrong and it's our way or the highway. Fucking assholes. They're gonna lose fans quickly. I've been watching Stock Car racing for close to 40 years, and if I've had it, so have a bunch of other long-time fans.
