America=Nazi Germany

From Lambert at Corrente:

Two Bush opponents, taken out of the crowd in restraints by police, said they were told they couldn't be there [at a Bush campaign event] because they were wearing shirts that said they opposed the president.

Were the police wearing brown shirts at least? Fuckers.

We're having a problem here in NYC too. There are a bunch of groups trying to obtain permits to protest during the Republican Convention. The smaller groups have received them, but the protests will be scattered throughout the city, none near Madison Square Garden (where any of the politicians might see them). The largest group, possibly 250,000 strong, has still not receieved a permit from that little troll's (Mayor Bloomberg) office. As Lambert says:

Gee, the Declaration of Independence (thanks, Xan) might have some relevance here

We have to get these assholes out in November before they orchestrate the American Putsch. I'm just waiting to see what the GOPers do at Ground Zero to exploit our honored dead. I picture Bush standing there, giving a speech before thousands, all swearing their allegiance to him. "Sieg Heil, Sieg Heil, Sieg Heil!" Well, maybe I'm getting a little carried away but you know what I mean.
