George Tenet resigns

The Director of Central Intelligence resigned today and the consensus of the blogosphere is that he was forced out. Tenet claims he resigned for personal reasons (wink, wink), but so did every other cabinet secretary who's left the Bush Administration, O'Niell, Whitman, et. al.

Others feel the Senate Intelligence Committee report that will come out shortly leaves him no choice. Others say he's the Administration's fall guy for 9/11 and the shitty intelligence about Iraq. After dealing with spooks for four years, I kinda liked the DCI. Sure, he was a politician, everybody who gets that far is, but he seemed to have the respect of his people and was able to get things done within the Intelligence Community. We'll probably hear more before long, especially if he writes a book.
